Medicare & insurance help across Northern Virginia

We're based in Tysons and work with families from Arlington to Herndon. Medicare plans are priced and networked county by county, so where you live genuinely changes your options — and a local agent who knows the difference is worth having.

Why your county matters more than you'd think

Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are approved, priced, and networked at the county level. That means the set of plans available in Fairfax County isn't necessarily the set available in Arlington County or the City of Alexandria — and premiums for what looks like the same plan can differ across that line.

In a region as tightly packed as ours, that produces some genuinely counterintuitive results. Someone in Vienna and someone in Reston are twenty minutes apart and can be looking at different plan menus. A couple who moves from Falls Church to Fairfax may find their plan works differently. It's not intuitive, and it's the most common thing people are surprised by when we run their comparison.

Not on the list? We work throughout Virginia — see our statewide Virginia page — and we're licensed in 11 states, so we can help wherever you are.

Checking your doctors is the step people skip. Northern Virginia families are often deeply attached to specific physicians and health systems, and network participation varies by plan and changes year to year. Before you enroll in anything, have your doctors' names in front of you. We check every one against every plan we show you — it takes a few extra minutes and prevents the single most painful surprise in Medicare.

What we help Northern Virginia families with

Medicare is what most people call us about, but it's not the whole picture — and in a region with this many federal retirees, contractors, self-employed consultants, and multigenerational households, the questions vary a lot:

Splitting time between states? That changes the answer.

A meaningful share of the people we work with in Northern Virginia spend real time somewhere else — a place at the beach, months with family in another state, or a plan to relocate in retirement. This isn't a footnote; it should drive the decision.

Medicare Advantage plans are built around local provider networks, and they serve you best in your home county. Medicare Supplement plans let you see any provider nationwide who accepts Medicare, which is why they often suit people who travel or split residences. We're licensed in 11 states — Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Michigan, and Indiana — so we can look at both ends of your situation rather than only this one.

Our office is at 8609 Westwood Center Drive, Suite 110, Tysons, VA 22182, and we're glad to sit down with you. Plenty of people would rather do the whole thing by phone or video, and that works just as well — we handle enrollment electronically and can walk you through every screen.

We're reachable Monday through Friday 8am–8pm ET, and weekends 9am–2:30pm ET. Our help is free: carriers pay agent commissions, and your premium is identical whether you enroll with us or on your own. And if you'd like a completely independent second opinion, Virginia's VICAP program offers free unbiased Medicare counseling at 1-800-552-3402. We'd rather you get good advice than only our advice.

Common questions

Northern Virginia Medicare FAQ

Do Medicare plans differ between Northern Virginia counties?
Yes. Medicare Advantage and Part D availability, pricing, and networks are set at the county level, so plans in Fairfax County can differ from Arlington County or the City of Alexandria. Someone in Vienna and someone in Reston may see different options despite living twenty minutes apart — which is why a county-specific comparison matters.
Can I meet with an agent in person?
Yes. Our office is at 8609 Westwood Center Drive, Suite 110 in Tysons, and we meet clients throughout Northern Virginia. Many people prefer phone or video, which works equally well — but if you'd rather sit down and go through the paperwork together, that's available.
Does working with a local broker cost anything?
No. Carriers pay agent commissions, and by law your premium is exactly the same whether you enroll through a broker, directly with the carrier, or on Medicare.gov. It costs you nothing and gets you someone who compares across carriers and answers the phone after you enroll.
What if I split time between Virginia and another state?
Common here, and it should drive your decision. Medicare Advantage plans are built around local networks and serve you best in your home county; Medicare Supplement plans let you see any provider nationwide who accepts Medicare. If you spend months elsewhere, that difference matters. We're licensed in 11 states and can coordinate across them.
